Common Mistakes
- 1 Enabling session replay without consent, treating it the same as basic performance monitoring
- 2 Capturing full stack traces that may contain personal data from application state
- 3 Not configuring data masking for sensitive form fields when session replay is active
Compliance Considerations
Collects performance timing data, session information, and error details. Session replay capability available which captures DOM state. EU data residency options available. For basic RUM without session replay, a legitimate interest basis may be appropriate. Session replay requires explicit consent due to the depth of data captured.

Pingdom
High Pingdom
Pingdom is a website performance monitoring service owned by SolarWinds that provides uptime monitoring, page speed analysis, and real user monitoring (RUM). The Pingdom RUM JavaScript snippet collects performance metrics from actual visitor browsers, including page load times, resource timing, and geographic performance distribution. While synthetic monitoring (external probes) does not involve personal data, the RUM component executes in the user's browser and collects data that may be linked to individual visitors. Pingdom is commonly deployed on enterprise websites, e-commerce platforms, and public sector digital services where uptime and performance are business-critical.
