Cross-site tracking: AAM's core function is building cross-site audience profiles. The demdex cookie enables visitor recognition across all sites using Adobe's ecosystem. This is advertising-category processing requiring explicit consent.
Server-side integrations: AAM often fires via server-side calls from Adobe Analytics or Adobe Target, making it invisible in client-side tag audits unless network requests to demdex.net are inspected.
International transfers: Adobe is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Verify Adobe's current self-certification status.
CMP configuration: Categorise under advertising consent. Block all demdex.net requests until consent is granted. Note that blocking Adobe Analytics alone may not prevent AAM data collection if server-side forwarding is configured.
